Sony Xperia XZ (2017) Allegedly Leaks in Images

Sony announced the Xperia XZ back in September this year, together with the Xperia X Compact. Xperia XZ was the flagship smartphone that the company announced during IFA 2017 and it did catch the attention of the market with its premium specs and design.

Now it seems that rumors about the upcoming Xperia XZ 2017 edition have already started to surface, although a release date is unknown at this point. The smartphone allegedly leaked in some blurry images on Slashleaks, which show a gold color variant and some details about its front panel.

The design shows a change in placement for the front camera, proximity sensor and speaker on the front panel. The Xperia XZ launched this year had the Sony branding right below the speaker, with the selfie snapper and the proximity sensor on the side of these two elements.
Xperia XZ 2017 might have a bezel-less design
The new design doesn’t seem to resemble any other Sony smartphone and has the branding right between the camera and the sensor. Leaked images also show an almost bezel-less design, similar to the one found on the Xperia C5 or XA Ultra. Photos also show a gold variant of the Xperia XZ, but it’s unknown at this point if the phone will be provided in other colors as well.

There’s not much information about the upcoming Xperia XZ, but the phone is expected to have more advanced specs compared to its predecessor. The Xperia XZ had a very powerful rear camera with 23MP, f/2.3 aperture and predictive hybrid focus.

The front camera came with 13MP and 22mm wide-angle lens for snapping stunning selfies and conducting video calls. RAM capacity was 3GB, together with 64GB of internal storage and a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It drew power from a 2,900mAh battery with Quick Charge and had a fingerprint scanner. The phone was made available in October for a price of about $699 in the US.
