Comedian and TV star Amy Schumer has found a buyer for the New York City penthouse she's had on and off the market for just over a year.
Listing details show the one-bedroom and 1.5-bathroom apartment occupies the entire top floor of a turn-of-the-20th-century brownstone building near New York's Central Park.
There are timber floors and several sky lights throughout. The apartment includes an open-plan living/dining room with a fireplace set between built-in bookshelves. A compact kitchen is outfitted with high-grade appliances, and an amply proportioned bedroom with a second fireplace opens to a renovated marble bathroom with classic claw-footed tub. An interior staircase ascends to a private roof deck with city views.
Schumer first listed the property at NZ$2.89 million and dropped the price to NZ$2.3 million. Modlin Group, the real estate brokers representing Schumer, say the apartment is currently under contract, but will not disclose pricing or purchaser details.
The actress looks to be staying in New York. She recently purchased a much larger duplex penthouse, also on the Upper West Side.
On the other side of the city, film and television star Chloe Sevigny has sold her spacious apartment in the historic Park Slope neighbourhood.
The property was listed for NZ$3.97 million. Public records show the Academy Award-nominated actress purchased the apartment just over three years ago for NZ$2.9 million.
Sevigny's apartment has to four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Both of the substantially sized main bedrooms have a view of Prospect Park — and the master offers an ensuite bathroom and two walk-in closets — while two significantly smaller bedrooms are tucked behind the kitchen at the rear of the apartment.
A gallery-like central foyer has graphic black and white tile flooring installed at a 45-degree angle to the space. The living and dining rooms are linked by French doors. The park-facing living room features a decorative fireplace and both rooms have parquet flooring and high beamed ceilings.
